Votes without Borders

Led by Romanian investigative journalism outlet Átlátszó Erdély (Transylvania), Votes without Borders will investigate the voting registration process of Hungarians living in neighbouring countries and monitor the election campaign in these communities. Unhack Democracy will provide training and ongoing supervision to journalists working on the project.

The team will analyse the government's funding of the campaign aimed at diaspora voters, the voter registration process, the campaign across social media and traditional media outlets, the election itself, and, most importantly, potential irregularities and fraud. The project will also provide information to voters about their rights and responsibilities and secure an online platform where voters can safely report irregularities.
